I started floating in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy after a couple medical hiccups limited my practice in the hot yoga room. Being a teacher of the physical asana’s and also practicing 3 -4 times a week, I was devastated. And then came along this pod, with salt water, so effortlessly placed in a blue, serene room off the busiest trendiest streets in Calgary. My first experience was similar to many, a bit restless, sceptical and curious as to how this was all going to play out. I experienced immediate relief from pain in my lower back and hips. Also, I experienced my first full deep sleep since becoming pregnant. I am expecting twins, so my body has had to be extra gracious to me throughout this time. So I look forward to coming to clear float each week, the benefits have not only been physical, I have connected with my babies in such an intimate and safe environment that I am not sure just anywhere could facilitate. It has provided me with a heightened intuition in what I need and what they need from me. The experience continues afterwards in the zen room with a hot cup of tea and lovely note from the friendly staff. You really can’t help but feel you are in a home away from home. I can honestly say as I approach the end of my pregnancy that I don’t know where I would be without this simple, beautiful community. I highly recommend any woman who is pregnant to try floating!
