As a professional soccer player with over a decade of experience competing internationally for both club and country, I was first drawn to float therapy for the numerous physical benefits it presented — improved circulation, reduced inflammation, and pain relief to name a few.
What I wasn’t initially aware of, however, was how it would help me learn to better manage the mental stresses of competition and everyday life. I’m a pretty high energy guy who’s never been very good at meditation or mindfulness training, but floating forces me (in the most relaxing of ways) to be present and give myself the opportunity to find balance, clarity, and creativity amongst the chaos.
The integration of floating into my weekly recovery regimen has become crucial to promoting both my physical and mental well-being. I am honoured to be a part of ClearFloat’s team and to help share these transformative benefits with Calgarians of all walks of life.
